NORTH CAROLINA FOOTBALL
current helmet logo
proposed modification
By strengthening the outline as well as filling in the negative space inside the "NC", suddenly your logo pops off the helmet (and the TV screen) into living rooms all across America.
What's good for the helmet is also good for the uniform.
Navy piping and striping provide maximum contrast for the white in the uniform (in the logo, numbers, and striping) so it literally jumps off the TV screen.
The incorporation of some traditional striping on the sleeves help break up the blue, providing visual impact as well as providing vital color on the visiting jersey. The Home jersey stripes echo the helmet stripe, while the Away jersey stripes echo the new pants striping.
As for the pants, Nike seems to currently favor truncating or shortening the pants stripe in many of their newer designs, which in addition to looking very non-traditional (bordering on clunky) only makes players look shorter, especially from a distance or on TV. It will also look very dated in 3 or 4 years. Not classic at all.
This more traditional approach pulls Carolina Blue (with bolder navy stripes) all the way down the pants, a more "classic" look you should never have to change again.
Please note the additon of the "Tarheel" icon to the pants. Use of this existing great logo aids in establishing your unique visual identity.
