THE ANIMATED FILM...
If audience demand and critical appeal resulting from the introduction of the Graphic Novel occur as anticipated, production of an animated version of the screenplay should follow as quickly as possible. This animated feature-length film should prove revolutionary in (at least) two ways--
  • Utilization of new computerized rotoscoping technology (as recently seen in Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly) will allow for an unprecedented blending of the genuine, human performances of actors (as opposed to either traditional hand-drawn or computer animation) with the complete digital and artistic freedom to mirror the exact look of the Graphic Novel, resulting in the creation of the first, true "Comic Book" movie in film history.
  • Shooting quickly and efficiently on greenscreen (a la Sin City and 300) instead of wasting millions on expensive sets or locations will allow for a smaller shooting budget than similar market competitors, resulting in a much higher profit-to-cost ratio than is normally associated with high-profile science fiction/fantasy projects.
